Size

SVG is a vector format, so larger sizes stay perfectly sharp. Fonts that aren't installed on this device are replaced by similar ones.

How to convert SVG to PNG

  1. Choose the size

Original size, 2×, 4× or an exact width in pixels. Larger sizes stay perfectly sharp.

  2. Add SVG files

Drag them onto the box or choose them with the button. Compressed .svgz files work too.

  3. Download

One PNG at a time or all of them in a ZIP.

Drawn safely in your browser

Your browser draws each SVG as a plain image: scripts inside the file never run and nothing is loaded from the internet. The files never leave your device.

SVG or PNG – what's the difference?

SVG describes shapes – lines, curves and text – instead of pixels, so it can be shown at any size without getting blurry. That makes it ideal for logos and icons, but many apps, social networks, office programs and upload forms only accept pixel images. PNG is the safest replacement: it is lossless and keeps transparency.

Typical sizes

  • Favicons and app icons – 512 pixels wide.
  • Websites and slides – 2× the original size.
  • Print – 4×, or the width your printer asks for (2480 pixels fill an A4 page width at 300 dpi).

Need a JPG instead? Convert the PNG afterwards with PNG to JPG. PNG too big? Compress it.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the text look different?

If the SVG uses a font that isn't installed on your device and isn't embedded in the file, a similar font is used instead. To keep the exact look, convert the text to outlines in your design program before exporting the SVG.

Which size should I choose?

2× is a good choice for websites and presentations, because it stays sharp on high-resolution screens. For print or large displays, choose 4× or enter an exact width.

Is the background transparent?

Yes, by default. Choose White if the PNG will be used somewhere that shows transparency as black or as a checkerboard.

Why is a picture inside my SVG missing?

Pictures linked from the internet are not loaded, for privacy and security. Pictures embedded in the SVG file itself are drawn normally.

What about animated SVGs?

The PNG shows the drawing as it looks before any animation starts.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser.
