How to turn PNGs into a PDF
Add your PNG files
Drag them onto the box, choose them with the button or paste a screenshot straight from the clipboard. JPG and iPhone photos can go in the same PDF.
Choose the order and the page
Move pages up or down with the arrows. "Same as image" keeps every screenshot at its own size; A4 or Letter is better if the PDF will be printed.
Download the PDF
One click saves a single PDF with one page per image. Change the order or the page size and download again whenever you like.
Screenshots often show more than you think
A screenshot can contain an open chat, a bank balance, an order number or a customer's name. Uploading it to an online converter hands all of that to someone else's server. KeepPixels builds the PDF inside your browser instead – nothing is sent anywhere, and once the page has loaded it even works offline.
How PNGs end up in the PDF
PNG is the format of screenshots and graphics: it stores every pixel exactly, which keeps text and thin lines sharp. KeepPixels puts those pixels into the PDF the same way – compressed without loss, never re-encoded as JPG – and keeps transparency as part of the page. Photos in JPG format are added unchanged, so you can combine both in one document.
When a PDF of screenshots helps
- Sending proof of a payment, a booking or an order confirmation as one file.
- Collecting the steps of an error or a bug report in the right order.
- Handing in charts, slides or a scanned handout as a single document.
Tips
- For a document that will only be read on screen, “Same as image” with no margin gives the cleanest result.
- If the PDF has to stay under an upload limit, compress the images first or turn photos into JPG.
- Photos and scans rather than screenshots? The JPG to PDF page has tips for photographing documents.
Frequently asked questions
Does the text in my screenshots stay sharp?
Yes. PNG pixels are stored in the PDF without loss – the same way a ZIP file stores them – so small writing, lines and icons look exactly like the original. Nothing is turned into a blurry JPG along the way.
What happens to transparent areas?
They stay transparent inside the PDF, so you see the white page behind them. Logos and graphics with a transparent background therefore look clean on the page, without a grey or black box around them.
Which page size is best for screenshots?
Choose "Same as image" if the PDF will be read on screen – each page is then exactly as big as its screenshot, with no white border. Choose A4 or Letter if it will be printed or attached to a form that expects normal pages.
Can I put PNG and JPG files in the same PDF?
Yes. You can mix PNG, JPG, HEIC and WebP files freely. Each image becomes one page, in the order of the list.
Why is my PDF so big?
Lossless pages are large when the PNG is a photo rather than a screenshot. For photos, convert the PNGs to JPG first – the PDF then becomes many times smaller and still looks the same.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The PDF is built by your own browser and no image data is sent to a server. You can check this in your browser's developer tools (Network tab).
Is it really free and unlimited?
Yes. No account, no daily limit and no maximum number of pages. The only limit is your device's memory.
